Abstract
Mucosal bridge of the gastrointestinal tract is an unusual manifestation of inflammatory bowel disease, occuring as a result of mucosal fusion in healing process of ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease. Mucosal bridges of conlon share a common
pathogenesis with colonic pseudopolyps, and are created when two adjacent ulcerations meet by burrowing beneath an area of inflammed mucosa and connected at both ends by a mucosally covered tube as healing occurs.
We report a case of colonic mucosal bridge demonstrated by colonoscopy in a 45-year-old man who presented with vague left-sided low abdominal pain and alternating patterns of constipation and diarrhea.
